A penniless man wanders the streets of Cap-Haïtien, Haiti, dreaming of his imaginary kingdom. He believes he is King Christophe, the first monarch of the New World, a freed slave and liberator of Haiti in 1804.
Nicknamed “King Chacha,” the dreamer is run out of town. With Thimothée, a street kid he has taken under his wing, he hides up in the extraordinary ruins of “Château Sans Souci.”
